The music
The Seasons is a late masterpiece (1801) from this composer. In comparison with its companion oratorio, The Creation, it is seldom heard. Like The Creation, The Seasons has powerful choruses of divine praise, recitatives and arias for three vocal soloists, and episodes of "tone painting", using music to depict the life of country folk in Haydn's time through the seasons of the year.
Don't miss this opportunity to hear this extraordinary work.
